Look, we don’t love to put clickbait-y things like “crazy cheap” in the headlines very often, but we kind of feel like we need to today.
For a few special months every year, the stars align, and Harvest becomes even more of a no-brainer than it already is. Like…right now!
Across California, Harvest can cost as little as $9,450 to install, after incentives - and it’ll save you up to 30% on energy bills on top of that. We’ll take care of your heating, hot water, and air conditioning in one fell swoop - and you’ll almost completely ditch carbon pollution from your home’s biggest energy hogs.
Let’s start with an average-ish home, and walk through what a Harvest install looks like from a dollars and cents point of view. The “average home” is around 1700 square feet, has a traditional central gas furnace and air conditioning, and has reasonable insulation and ductwork. You and I both know an average home doesn’t really exist, but work with us for a minute.
A very-average Harvest system, with air conditioning, costs around $47,500 up front. Not bad for whole-home heating, hot water, and air conditioning. But not good, either.
Municipalities have a wide variety of incentives available, but average around $4,500 for Harvest.
States - and one state in particular - are where the magic’s at right now. TECH Clean California rebates have just relaunched, for a limited time only - and that means an extra $11,500 off - just for systems with thermal storage and air-to-water heat pumps, like Harvest.
And, and, AND! If you electrify your entire home - which you should! - you get an extra $9,150 off your install, through the Energy Smart Homes program. Often, your home heating and hot water are the last gas parts of the electrification journey. Harvest is a great last piece of the puzzle, and now it’s worth a huge chunk of change as well - again, because it includes the power of thermal storage and load shifting. Other heat pumps without storage also get Energy Smart Home rebates, but only about half as much.
Federal tax credits - and yes, they still exist - are worth a whopping 30% off the cost of your system.
So, what’s the math look like? $47,500 - $4,500 - 30% - $11,500 - $9,150 = $9,450 to install Harvest. That’s crazy cheap.
This is just one example. Of course, every home is slightly different, but this gives you a good start to think about how easy it will be to get Harvest in your home, before it gets hot.
If you’re just interested in the most efficient heat pump for air conditioning, and weren’t thinking about replacing your gas furnace or hot water heater - getting Harvest right now is still a pretty great hack for your long-term home improvement schedule.
Because Harvest is a smart thermal battery, it qualifies for way more incentives than any other system. We like to say you get a Ferrari for a Camry price. And since Harvest includes heating, hot water, AND air conditioning, you can get way more for your renovation time and money than you otherwise could.

You may be wondering: how does all of this stack up against other heat pumps or gas systems? Good question.
Gas systems are cheapest up front - around $23,000 - but don’t get any incentives. High-end heat pump systems average around $16,500 after incentives, and median heat pumps without thermal storage average around $13,500.
But none of these options have a smart thermal battery, and won’t save you nearly as much every month on bills. In many cases, Harvest will be the most economical way to heat, cool, and hot-water your house, hands down. Even in a not-best-case-scenario, Harvest is still cheaper than a lower-performing (read “more expensive to run”) heat pump system. That’s both the cost to install, and the cost to run it. Reminder: Harvest, in a best case scenario, is around $9450.
But…there’s always a but. These incentives WILL NOT last forever. That much, we can promise you: TECH Clean California has come and gone before, at least twice, and those times, it lasted about a month each.
So, at the risk of being painfully obvious…what are you waiting for? [Get Harvest]!
