A new wave of Wall Street reports paints a bleak picture for climate goals. According to analyses from Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, and others, the world is on track for a 3°C temperature increase, well above the 2°C Paris Agreement target. This trajectory means more heatwaves, environmental disasters, and economic instability. But while governments and financial institutions scale back climate commitments, one industry is set to boom: air conditioning.
Morgan Stanley predicts the global AC market could grow by 41%, reaching $331 billion by 2030. The logic is that as heat waves intensify, the demand for cooling will skyrocket, making air conditioning an essential part of daily life. Here’s the catch: air conditioning might keep you cool, but it won’t cool down the planet. More AC means higher energy use, and if powered by fossil fuels, it will further accelerate climate change in a vicious feedback loop.
If the future is hotter, we need better cooling solutions, not just more cooling. Traditional air conditioners, while essential in certain temperatures, can be energy hogs, leading to high electricity bills and increased emissions. That’s where smart energy management comes in.
At Harvest, we take a different approach. Instead of relying solely on energy-intensive cooling systems, we work with the environment—and the latest technology—to keep your home comfortable. Our system can tap into natural diurnal temperature cycles, drawing in cool night air to reduce the need for active cooling. And when mechanical cooling is necessary, Harvest integrates seamlessly with some of the most efficient heat pump air conditioners in the world. These systems are not only easier on the grid, but they also align with solar generation peaks—making it easier to run your home on clean, affordable energy. So when you upgrade your HVAC with Harvest, you're not just choosing comfort—you're choosing smarter, more sustainable cooling.
The reports from Morgan Stanley and other banks highlight a hard truth: We are moving into a world where cooling will be a necessity, not a luxury. But instead of accepting a future where energy costs spiral out of control, we have the tools to make cooling affordable, sustainable, and smarter.
At Harvest, we’re proving that comfort and climate action can go hand in hand. If cooling is going to be a booming market, let’s make sure it’s done right.
